Workshops – A place for making and meaningful encounters

We offer workshops centered around the act of making.
In a workspace adjacent to our working bindery in Tokyo, you can spend time working with your hands, surrounded by the sound of machines and the scent of paper.

GlueNote

The GlueNote workshop is a notebook-making workshop where you create your own original memo notebook using colorful papers with a variety of textures, along with brushes and glue.
The session lasts approximately 90 minutes, with up to 4 participants per session (reservation required).
As each session is held in a small group, you are welcome to join on your own or with family and friends.

Participants aged 5 and above are welcome to join, and the notebook you create can be taken home on the same day.
We hope the experience becomes one of your memories of Tokyo.

The process unfolds as follows

① Choose your papers and covers, and decide the shape of your notebook

② Align the sheets and bind the spine with glue

③ Once dry, separate each notebook

④ Finish by adding a stamp or drawing

※Our staff will support you throughout the process, so first-time participants are very welcome.
You can take your completed notebook home with you.

The time spent carefully shaping each piece by hand reflects the same process we carry out in our daily work. It is a time that may be enjoyed by those who appreciate paper, stationery, and making.
For groups of 4 or more, or for special requests regarding group size or scheduling, please feel free to contact us via the inquiry form.

Ito Bindery’s Notebook Workshop Vol.1 (January 27th, 2024)

We held our first-ever notebook binding workshop with photographer Shoji Onuma. Using needles and thread typically used in bookbinding, as well as glue, a photobook was bound entirely by hand during this workshop on thread bookbinding.

Through completing the photobook with everyone, our staff experienced the fun and enjoyment of creation. We hope to meet many more people during this workshop!
